New Ventures In My Photography

Hello! Yes, it has been a very long time since I posted last! I've gone through a transformation stage in my life and haven't posted anything in quite awhile but I'm back now and ready to roll with some new photographic ventures. I have spent a lot of time researching this new prospect for my chosen craft, love, and profession. I haven't stopped my photography, I just haven't posted any of my work lately. You may have noticed I no longer have my website but a new one is just around the corner :) My new website can be found at www.kaseymartinphoto.com. I'm looking forward to getting it up and running and I hope you will visit and follow me on my new journey. To those that support my work I just want to say a BIG thank you! I look forward to a wonderful new year filled with lots of new work. If you are in need of a photographer for any and all types of photography...I'm available! You can reach me at 865-438-9776. I look forward to working with you.

Royalty Wears Purple...Princess Sabrina Has Arrived.

So, here it is a new year and I'm just now getting around to making a post. Things have been extremely hectic around here lately. I do have to say, I'm so thankful the holidays are past us and we have begun a new year. Did you make any resolutions this year? I don't usually make resolutions but in 2011 I decided to make one and it has been the same one each year since but it's worth repeating...Cherish life, Overcome, and Stand firm. It pretty much covers it all for me.
January 2013 has, so far, been the rainiest most soggy January that I can ever imagine or remember. Even so, I have still done a few sessions and would like to present my latest...the following photos are of Miss Sabrina born on 12/21/12 ~ The day the world was supposed to end, Sabrina's life and journey began.

Say hello to my little princess.

(There are more of Sabrina's photos on my Facebook fan page that are not on this page)

If you are a family member and wish to order prints from this session please contact me by calling 865-607-5014 or send your order request through the parents. Thanks.

I had a great time at this session, as I do all newborn sessions. I would like to thank Sabrina's parents and grandparents for being so cooperative and helpful during this photo session. I enjoyed working with your family and hope to see you again in the future. I will be thinking of that sweet precious little girl of yours for a long time.

Until next time ~ Keep smiling!

Little Boy Blue

Yes, I know, it's been forever ago since I last blogged, updated my web site, or did much tweeting. I'm really bad about it because I just have such a fulfilling and busy life. Not that I'm complaining because I consider myself truly blessed. I'm just sorry I make you wait to hear what's going on in my world.

So, most recently, my friend Tina and I had plans to travel to New Hampshire and Maine to visit with her family, do a little shopping, visit the beaches, and eat as much seafood as we could handle. The day before we were set to leave I had the honor of doing a newborn session for the cutest and sweetest baby boy. I knew I wouldn't get to do anything with the pictures until I returned from my trip and that was difficult for me but I was happy my clients were understanding and patient enough with me to wait until I returned to finish their photos for viewing. Today was that day and now I'm able to share with all of you the photos from that session. Colten, you're precious.

Where Am I and What Day Is This?

I really don't know what to say! I have been so busy I haven't had time to think or to rest much either. I went on a nature trip where I met some fellow photographer friends. I enjoyed the trip and the people I made friends with. Lost Creek Falls was beautiful, although a little tricky for me to maneuver about all those steep hills and mossy slippery rocks but with a little help from Harry, I made it just fine and captured some great pictures. This is my favorite picture from that trip. Thanks to Harry Dunn for everything he did to make this trip happen.

I had a photo session with sweet little Ella a few days after my trip from Lost Creek Falls. Ella is four years old and the cutest, sweetest, and lovable little girl. She loves the camera and the camera loves her. I had a great time with her...I even let her take the tutu and baby legs home with her after the session because she was just so incredibly good throughout the entire session.

While at the location for Ella's session I just knew I was going to have to take some macros of the beautiful flowers the McCluen's have surrounding their home...these are just a few I took that day. To see more of these beautiful flowers you can visit my Facebook fan page; Kasey Martin Photography.

Another nature walk: I love flowers and landscapes so much...

Finished a newborn baby bed prop I started a few weeks ago...I can't wait to use it!

Since then, I've been working on taking photos for our homebound church members, prom pictures, church children's musical, more homebound church members, three business headshot sessions, and possibly a newborn session soon! The word for my next week or two is editing!

I have also decided to showcase one person who inspires me for each month...the first one for the month of May, please don't miss it! She is one of the finest people I have ever met. I look forward to this every month and I hope you will too!

Well, at least I got in a little update....back to editing!

Until next time, may Gold bless you and keep you!

Kasey~

Abandoned....almost!

Yes, you could say I have just about abandoned my blog lately! I have just had too much going on and well, as I have stated before, I'm really just not the best blogger around. Here it is though, yes... a new blog!

I have been doing some really neat and fun things with my family, it's still a school year for my home schooled son, learning some astrophotography from (or with) my husband, working in the studio, marketing, social media, housework, cooking, and always mounds of laundry. It is these things that keep me from sitting in front of the computer writing a blog.

A couple of weekends ago my family and I took a trip to Asheville, NC to beautiful Biltmore Estates. It was a wonderful thing seeing the expressions on the faces of the kids (they're both barely teens) at the grandeur of what life was like for the Vanderbilt family. We spent some time walking in the gardens, touring the house from the basement to the fourth floor, had lattes in the courtyard, spent a huge amount of time (and money) in the gift shops, and took lots of pictures. It was a fantastic day with my family and I look forward to going back again when all the gardens are in full bloom.

As you know, Facebook has now changed over to timeline and with it comes the opportunity to create nice timeline covers for your fan page and your personal page. I've created two for my business fan page and I'm pretty pleased with both of them. A lot of people seem to dislike the new format but I don't really have a problem with it, in fact, I kinda like it. Below are two of the timeline covers I created for my fan page: You can visit my Facebook fan page at Kasey Martin Photography Please stop by for a visit.

My husband has decided he wants to get into photography (as I mentioned above)...astrophotography that is! It's very in depth, intricate, and a completely different field of photography from what I do. It's also extremely interesting and I plan on trying my hand at a few shots of the massive expanse of what's out there in the universe, a galaxy, or the moon sometime soon. Rob is just starting out in this adventure but he has already captured some amazing pictures. This one is of the Orion Nebula

The best news is working in a studio!!! No, it's not mine completely! Yes, I share space with another photographer and I'm loving it. I have a few photos of my session with my step-daughter, Emily, posted on my Facebook fan page so stop in an take a look at them. They're not on my website yet, well, because that's another area where I have been lacking in keeping it updated! The address of the studio is 1312 Morrell Road, Knoxville, TN 37919 but I still work out of my office at 7630 Highway 11 E. I do consults at my home and shoot the sessions at the studio space. If you need new family, senior, childrens , newborn, or business headshots in the studio give me a call at 865-607-5014 and book your studio time now.

Until next time...God bless and keep smiling!
