For the first time since 1993, the East Tennessee area saw significant snowfall and extremely cold temperatures (as did most of the Eastern USA)! Everyone can identify with the statement "if it's going to snow, I wish it would really snow!". Well we all got our wish and received snow for about four days in a row with accumulations in our area of 6". It was a beautiful snow with huge snowflakes the size of your hand at times. We were all so happy to actually see a big snowfall again...until it just didn't seem like it was going to stop! It seems everyone went out and played in the snow a couple of days, sledding, snowball fights, four-wheeling, lots of mentions of snow cream being made, and the snow just kept falling. Now that we've been trapped inside for almost a week and local schools have been closed for a week and a half...we're ready for the snow to go away and get back to normal. (Don't look at the forecast for tomorrow and a few days next week if this is you.)The bottom line is...I don't think winter is going anywhere just yet and we could still see snow even into April...hey, stranger things have happened. So don't put away the shovels and snow boots just yet.
